Sitecore Commerce 8.2.1 Installation Guide for Reference Storefront-Part 9
Final configuration

To complete your Sitecore Commerce configuration, you perform 1.merge sitecore web.config,Rebuild sitecore and commerce index and to configure the sample storefront site
Update the Sitecore web.config files

To update the web.config files:

  1. Navigate to your site file path ".\wwwroot\storefront\Website"

  2. Open your web.config file

  3. Navigate to the \Website\MergeFiles folder

    • Merge the contents of the Merge.CommerceServer.config file into the web.config 

    • Refer the screen shot below:
      CommerceeServer.merge

    • Navigate to \Website\MergeFiles folder and merge the Merge.Commerce.Storefront.config into web.config file

    • Save your changes to the web.config file.



  4. Navigate to .\wwwroot\storefront\Website and open your web.config file

  5. Navigate to the .\wwwroot\storefront\Website\Views folder. and open your Merge.web.config file

  6. Merge the contents of the Merge.web.config file into the Web.config file.

  7. Save your changes to the Web.config file.


Configure basic settings in the sample Storefront site


  1. Log in to the Sitecore desktop at http://{your instance name}/sitecore/login and open the Content Editor.

  2. Navigate to /sitecore/Sitecore Commerce/Catalog Management/Catalogs and ensure that the Habitat_Master option is checked in the Selected Catalogs section (under Commerce).

  3. In item /sitecore/content/Storefront/Home, Remove the broken link and choose Habitat

  4. In item /sitecore/content/Storefront/Home, For fields Product Images, Category Images, and Default Images(Yes for all 3 fields) set the data source to sitecore/media library/Images/Habitat.

  5. In item /sitecore/content/Storefront/Home/Product catalog, For field Category DataSource select /sitecore/Commerce/Catalog Management/Catalogs/Habitat Catalog/Departmentsin the field CategoryDatasource .

  6. In the Sitecore Content Editor, select the Publish tab.Click the Publish drop-down arrow and select Publish Site from the drop-down menu.

  7. Rebuild your sitecore and commerce indexes
