Installtion Sitecore 9 Installation Modes - Scaled, Standalone Installation Types


The Sitecore Experience Platform is designed to be used in production environments. and can also be run in a local development environment.But the installation steps is different when compared with stand alone installation.

  • For information about installing Sitecore in a local environment, see the chapter Local Environment Setup.


For small level setup & implementations which includes local environments for developer workstations and testing environments, we can go with Sitecore XP0 and the database server can be installed on a single machine. [Standalone Mode]

  • For information about installing Sitecore in a scaled up environment, see the chapter scaled up Environment Setup.


For production setup & implementation which can include local environments for developer workstations and testing environments similar to production setup, we can go with Sitecore XP1 and the database server can be installed on a same or different machine.
