Installation Steps For JRE to Run sitecore 9,solr,sitecore commerce

Installation steps For Java JRE 1.8 or higher



Download the Latest version of Java Runtime Environment .Run the application,follow the prompts and uninstall the previous version if it prompts.JRE installation is necessary for sitecore 9,solr and sitecore commerce

Setup JAVA_HOME Environment Variable

  1. In windows 10 search for "System"

  2. Double click on the System

  3. Click on the Advanced system setting in the left pane
    Java JRE

  4. Click on the Environment Variable

  5. Check wheather you have JAVA_HOME variable if not add the variable and specify the jre path were it got installed in my case it is in "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_172"
